Magdalenefjorden (79.57347°N, 11.07601°E) is located at the northwest Spitsbergen. It is a small fjord, 8 km long and p to 5 km wide. The fjord is surrounded by tundra, steep mountains and glaciers. Little auks are the most numerous colonial seabirds breeding in the fjord. Their colonies are less numerous in the last years compared to the 2000s.
GLS loggers have been deployed on little auks in Magdalenefjorden in 2023 making the area a SEATRACK site.
